AURA_HALO EFFECT 18.APR.2002
A simple polygon effect to create realtime, dynamic Aura's or halo's around any model.

There are 3 demos to choose from. The original should work for all, with a small 3D sprite, and only simple geometry. The newer demos feature more advanced geometry, but makes use of an undoc'd (and therefore unsupported) feature of Director 8.5 to extrude 2D shapes into 3D models. There has been one reported problem with the new demo not working.

Enhnaced Aura Demo v0.8a (100k)
This version of the advanced Aura demo uses 2 cameras to achieve the compositing of the model over the halo. This is currently the only supported method of achieving composiiting.
The movie has an enlarged 3D viewing area (512x512), and a host of models from simple cubes to letters and complex shapes.

Enhnaced Aura Demo v0.8 (100k)
This version of the advanced Aura demo uses the unsupported no_depth flag to allow the Aura to be drawn to the screen, but NOT written into the zbuffer. This allows the model to always be drawn over the top of the Aura.
The movie has an enlarged 3D viewing area (512x512), and a host of models from simple cubes to letters and complex shapes.

Original Demo (80k)
This was one of the first demos produced. It only has 3 simple shapes a cube, cross and sphere. It is left here for comparrision and should run even if the newer versions don't.
